How do you show the world how playful OREO is? You ask them to join in the world’s first global, augmented-reality scavenger hunt. The Great OREO Cookie Quest featured a mobile app with object recognition and AR that turned hundreds of everyday objects into hiding places for virtual OREO cookies to be discovered, collected and redeemed for prizes. Spanning 30 global markets, in 24 local languages; The Quest generated a world-wide sense of wonder for OREO, making it the world’s most sought-after cookie.

RESULTS: 1.2 Billion Impressions, 42K app installs. 166K accounts made. Average of 8.44 minutes engaged per user. A 273% increase in retail pre-orders.

Then, follow clues to track down everyday objects and use the app to scan them to reveal hundreds of virtual cookies - chocolate, silver and gold denotes the rarity of the object. Each virtual cookie unlocks an exclusive prize, like these specially designed social stickers.
