Experiential

A selection of experiential projects, conceived, developed and executed in partnership with various agencies

DANCING TRAFFIC LIGHT - SMART CAR

In a bid to reduce the road accidents caused by pedestrians crossing the road while red man is displayed, we created a pop-up installation to keep people waiting. An interactive booth was created where people could pick a tune and dance on a small stage. Their dance moves were captured by a Kineckt camera and translated into the moves of the red-light man. Bespoke led panels were installed over the lights at a bust pedestrian crossing and unsuspecting pedestrians were entertained by he dancing man, while they waited. The film quickly reached over 10M views on youTube and appeared on their most viral round-up of 2013.

LIVE HIGH FIVES - KLM

INTERCONTINENTAL HIGH FIVES! To celebrate their incredibly popular flight sale ‘World Deal Weeks’, I worked with KLM and their ad agency, Eigen Fabrikaat, on an idea to create a device that would enable people on opposite sides of the Atlantic to high-five each-other via two large video billboards. Perfect High-fives stood a chance of winning two return tickets to the opposite destination. The aim was to get people to engage with each other, in real time, through installations linking the two original KLM destinations of Amsterdam and New York. But the high-five aspect added an intriguing gaming element and the chance to win AMS - NYC tickets pulled the crowds.

KARAOKE-POWERED VENDING MACHINE - ADIDAS

To launch the brand new Adidas shirt for Rotterdam football club, Feyenoord, we were tasked with conceiving an activation that would bring out the passion of the truest fans, hero the shirt and echo the Adidas mantra “ALL IN”. What better way to sort the true fans from the fair-weather supporters than to challenge them to sing the club’s anthem – ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ - In public, early in the morning, at one of Europe’s biggest train stations?! The incentive? A chance to win one of the first new shirts, hours before it was released in-store.

LIVE, 3D PRINTED PETITION - WORLD ANIMAL PROTECTION

We were approached to come-up with a way to draw attention to the plight of Asian elephants reared for tourists to ride. Working with a team from FHV-BBDO, we developed a system whereby people could pledge online, never to ride an elephant. For every pledge received, a layer would be added to a giant 3D elephant being printed Live in our installation at Schipol International Airport. Furthermore, each pledger’s name would be printed into the giant model, rendered in a specially-designed typeface called ‘Elefont’, that mimicked the wrinkles of elephant skin. We launched on World Elephant day and in just three weeks over 30,000 people had made the pledge - completing the giant elephant statue. The process attracted national and international press attention, highlighting the issue of cruelty to Asian elephants and ultimately leading to 16 of Holland’s biggest travel agents agreeing to remove elephant rides from their offerings.
